More Cool Stuff than you can shake a stick at.
After tying that, I got to thinking, "Where the heck does that saying come from?" so I did some research and found a VERY cool site:
Phrase Finder
Here's what they said: SHAKE A STICK AT - "Although this does have a literal meaning, to threaten with a stick, we in the United States give it much more fanciful interpretation. If we say, "There are more filling stations in town than one can shake a stick at"Ç we mean nothing more than that the town contains an abundance of places at which one may purchase gasoline for one's motorcar. That American usage dates from early in the nineteenth century. One may speculate that it arose from the play at warfare by small boys - George Washington Jones flourishing a triumphant wooden sword over the considerable number of British soldiers who surrendered at Yorktown, more, in fact, than he could wave his 'stick' at. Then, too, we use the expression to indicate a comparative that may express derogation, and have done so for well over a hundred years. David Crockett, in his "Tour to North and Down East" (1835), wrote of one place at which he stayed, "This was a temperance house, and there was nothing to treat a friend to that was worth shaking a stick at." From "Heavens to Betsy" (1955, Harper & Row) by Charles Earle Funk.
Liquid Generation Liquid Generation always cracks me up and always has new content. It's a bit crass. Who am I kidding, it is VERY crass, so be warned.
You must listen to Harry Shearer's Le Show all the time. You can get it on the web if it is not syndicated by your local NPR station Pass this message on and save the world!!!
While on the subject of Harry Shearer, if you haven't seen A Mighty Wind yet, you are not a happy person.
Feeling guilty about the SUV you just bought? I am.

Science eStore These folks submitted to Cool Site of the Day but the site was a little too commercial-oriented for a Cool Pick, BUT it is a great store with some amazing products, especially for kids. Check it out!
No More AOL CDs (CSotD Apr 18, 2003) If you're not tired of getting AOL CDs, you must not have a postal mailing address.
Dumb Warnings (CSotD Apr 21, 2003) Example: On a child-sized Superman costume: "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly."
Totally Off the Record (CSotD Feb 06, 2003) The place to share and enjoy anonymous work stories. Here's a quote from the health care section: "She has had no rigors or shaking chills, but her husband states she was very hot in bed last night." Classic!

101 Tools for Tolerance (CSotD Sep 11, 2002) Hate can only be conquered by resident-activists willing to promote tolerance. You may already be one of them. The ideas in this guide will help foster tolerance in yourself, your family, your schools, your workplace and your community. Some of the ideas are things to do. Some are things to think about. Some are things to remember.
A lot of web sites don't last more than a year or two. Here are some classic Cool Site of the Day picks that are still hanging on to life:
CyberGRRL! (CSotD Mar 25, 1995) No, it's not a porn site. CygerGRRL is all about informing, inspiring and celebrating women.
