As a property investor, you’ve got a full plate. Between showings, calls, and managing tenants, you’re probably wondering if there’s an easy way to market your rentals. There is, and it’s fairly simple. Here are some helpful tips to get the most out of your efforts: 1. Don’t worry too much about SEO This sounds like marketing heresy, but SEO for your website shouldn’t be your primary focus and here’s why: SEO is a term describing methods used to optimize a webpage so it can be found in the search engines. In the past, this involved getting backlinks with specific anchor text, and phrasing content

Today's Cool Site of the Day is @Canary, a truly smart home security device. I was introduced to this startup's cool gadget by @Jason of the fantabulous #ThisWeekInStartups. Canary puts you in control of home security without expensive sensors, monthly fees etc. It connects to wifi and then the magic begins. Worth a look. (Wonder if this will replace my Dropcam.) Today's Cool Site of the Day is @Handy, a site where you can easily find people to come to your house and fix stuff (or clean the joint). I tried them out 2 weeks ago (needed a plumber) and, as scheduled, Jose B arrived--from nearly an hour away. Not only was he delighted to get the job, he was also a total pro. Reviews of Handy on Yelp are varied but mostly positive. I recommend them. Add this page to your 'home' related 'best of the web' bookmarks. Today's Cool Site of the Day is a crazy cool gadget called #Canviz, a digital frame that you will LOVE. I discovered this on Kickstarter (as of today, they have 31 days to raise funds and they've already exceeded their goal). Anyway, watch the video and tell me you wouldn't want this on your walls. Today's Cool Site of the Day is OpenFarm, the wikipedia of gardening and farming.  The site is a free and open database for farming and gardening knowledge. Similar to Wikipedia, the data is free for everyone to access and anyone can contribute content. Because people grow plants differently based on environmental conditions and growing practices, OpenFarm provides a framework for everyone to share their story, and for learners to find the best, most relevant content. This is one of those 'top websites' simply because it's so useful. See it and vote for it here (on the day of this post) and give it a 'thumbs up' above
