Today's Cool Site of the Day answers the question 'What is the frequency of the letters of the alphabet in English?' The inventor of Morse code, Samuel Morse (1791-1872), needed to know this so that he could give the simplest codes to the most frequently used letters. He did it by counting the number of letters in sets of printers' type. This site goes a bit further in the analysis. Today's Cool Site of the Day is the home of one of my favorite podcasts, Freakonomics. I listen to this show every week during the morning commute (via Stitcher, of course). Just another example of how we can be educated and entertained at the same time. When you visit the site, search for the recent show about what nuns and Bo Jackson have in common

Today's Cool Site of the Day is a short but important podcast from the Osgood File about the need for school to start later so teens can get more sleep. Overall, The Osgood File is one of my favorite podcasts -- it's usually the first one I listen to (via Stitcher, of course) when I start my morning drive.
