This Cool Site of the Day (for 12/11) is Build A Children's Book (#buildachildsbk). This site was sent to me by the creator and I'm happy to feature it. Started almost a year ago, Darci Wise created the idea out of a life-long love for children’s books and all other art mediums. If you have a young'n, give it a try. Vote for it here and give it a 'thumbs up' above.

Silk (#SilkDotCo) turns data into fun. Plain and simple. A little complex, at first, but watch the following explanation in 80 seconds (I enjoyed the 'football concussions' visualizations). Vote for it here and give it a 'thumbs up' above. This site discovered by our friends at allmyfaves.com

#Lynda is a hugely successful website for learning all about different business topics. Lynda has thousands of videos on web development, photography and lots more. Lynda is also a wonderful place to learn about popular and essential computer programs like Photoshop, Microsoft Excel and iMovie. Learn from expert teachers 24/7 online with Lynda. Also worth checking out: Glean Vote for it here and give it a 'thumbs up' above. This site discovered by our friends at allmyfaves.com

Today's Cool Site of the Day is #GirlsWhoCode Women represent 12% of all computer science graduates. In 1984, they represented 37% of all computer science graduates. Launched in Spring 2012, Girls Who Code is working to close the gender gap in the technology and engineering sectors. The site works to educate, inspire, and equip high school girls with the skills and resources to pursue opportunities in computing fields. (Hey, fellas, you can learn a few things here as well ;) Add this page to your ‘education' related bookmarks. And see and vote for today’s site here (on the day of this post) and give it a ‘thumbs up’ (above)…and,

Today's Cool Site of the Day is Gapminder, a remarkable site devoted to making statistics cool and useful. Gapminder World shows the world’s most important trends about health, wealth, the environment, and a lot more.
