Today's Cool Site of the Day is a news item about #TeslaMotor's battery gigafactory being built in Nevada. The company first announced its plans for a Gigafactory in February. Its goal is to produce more battery capacity by 2020 than was produced worldwide last year, enough for 500,000 vehicles. THAT is awesome news. Tesla's goal is to produce a mass market electric car in approximately three years. The Gigafactory is designed to reduce cell costs much faster than the status quo and, by 2020, produce more lithium ion batteries annually than were produced worldwide in 2013. The Center for MIT Entrepreneurship provides the expertise, support and connections needed for MIT students to become effective entrepreneurs. PowerPoint may still be the standard for presentations even though it is a cumbersome interface and sort of feels like being trapped in a cubicle. Today's Cool Site of the Day, Haiku Deck, by comparison, doesn’t demand much know-how in order to start creating sharp-looking slideshows. Yes, like Prezi, Haiku Deck shows us that we don't have to settle for clunky and boring. Vote for it here and give it a 'thumbs up' above.
I love stuff like this. You can learn so much from those who accomplish so much at breakneck speed.
