Today's Cool Site of the Day is a news item about #TeslaMotor's battery gigafactory being built in Nevada. The company first announced its plans for a Gigafactory in February. Its goal is to produce more battery capacity by 2020 than was produced worldwide last year, enough for 500,000 vehicles. THAT is awesome news. Tesla's goal is to produce a mass market electric car in approximately three years. The Gigafactory is designed to reduce cell costs much faster than the status quo and, by 2020, produce more lithium ion batteries annually than were produced worldwide in 2013.
