First off, a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR! Today's #CoolSite is a new entry into the 'news app' category: @INSIDE. I'm a big fan of reading news from either RSS feeds (@feedly) or apps (like @Circa) that curate the news for me (based on MY interests). So, when @jason started up INSIDE, I knew his team would curate the best journalism for me in real time. Download it today (and stay away from trash and fear journalism!) Vote for it here and give it a 'thumbs up' above. To find all previous cool sites since 1994, visit our archive.

Today's Cool Site of the Day is an app called WishBeen. @WishBeen was founded by a group of friends who made travel magazines. The idea of WishBeen was derived from seeing prints held in travelers' hands as they walked out of airports. The app changes the way travelers share their information and experiences -- from print to web. I immediately saw the value of the app when I searched travel plans for Tuscany Italy and found a couple of interesting, shared (documented) travel experiences. Their slogan: "Practical service for every potential traveler." See and vote for today’s site here (on the day of this post) and give it

Today's Cool Site of the Day is Red Alert. Red Alert provides real time alerts every time a terrorist fires rockets, mortars or missiles into the State of Israel. And YOU'RE feeling stressed? See it and vote for it here (on the day of this post) and give it a 'thumbs up' above. To find all previous cool sites since 1994, visit our archive. As you know from my post last week about texting while driving, I'm a bit committed to making sure that NO ONE EVER texts while driving. Well, today's Cool Site of the Day is Rode Dog, an app that promises to prevent texting while driving. This app came about when an 11-year old, Victoria Walker, won a hackathon and was awarded $20,000 by AT&T to develop the app. Here's her story. The app is not yet available in the App Store but you should visit their home page anyway and put your name on the notification list. See it and rate it here on the day
