Best Websites for Kids – xPrize

best science websites for kids
Today’s Cool Site of the Day is the #xPrize Global Learning initiative. Not so much an educational website for kids but a HUGE program to help educate kids all over the world. (@xprize – spread the word and get people to ‘thumb up’ this post!)

$15 million in prize money…

More info: The Global Learning xPrize challenges teams from around the world to develop open source and scalable software that will enable children in developing countries to teach themselves basic reading, writing and arithmetic, empowering them to take control of their own learning and ultimately their future. The xPrize goal is an empowered generation that will positively impact their communities, countries and the world…and they’re paying the winning team $10 million with 5 runnerup teams earning $1 million each.

(Wondering if #TeachBoost can join this party?!)
