"COOL SITE "HOWSTUFFWORKS" ANSWERS CURIOUS"

Anyone who has had to baby-sit a child whose curiosity is like a sponge will appreciate a reference Web site that answers such questions as "How do refrigerators work?" and "Why does bread taste so good?"

Howstuffworks, recently named the Cool Site of the Year by a group of nearly the same name, is a cleanly produced, cleanly written Web site. It uses color to inform us rather than to batter our eyeballs just to get our attention for more banner ad revenue. Scrolling down the page, viewers have a clear sense of what the subject matter is and what to expect when they click on a link. Coolest money site of the year was Motley Fool.
