This is part 2 of a tutorial on how to create quick and easy giveaways to drive traffic to your website/blog and facebook page.
In this case, I’m teaching by having you participate in the giveaway below. Essentially, I’m awarding points to anyone who:
1. ‘Likes’ this post
2. ‘becomes a fan/Likes’ Palm Beer (a client).
You don’t have to do either of the above but if you do and you are one of the top 3 point earners by the end of the week, I’ll be sending you a $50 debit card PLUS to make this even more worthwhile for everyone, I’m going to record a video showing the exact steps necessary to make this work optimally ON YOUR SITE but I need more of you to go through the steps so that i have enough data to present a solid case study (so far, only 500 referrers have been generated and I’d really like to see 2,000 before I produce the video).

I run cake decorating contests and give prizes to the winners. I would say it is semi successful. I say that because I would like to see a LOT more entries. They trickle in and every ten entries I pick a winner.
Trying our first give away by sending out a postcard mail out in 2 weeks. Will let you know how it works.
Tip: include a QRcode on your next postcard

I have not run a giveaway/contest on my site and now I am thinking what a great idea!
No, I’m in this for the money.
I’ve found there are pros and cons to give aways. They will bring in traffic (especially the last 24 hours before give away expires — and only if you list them in the right places), but I find they don’t really reflect a true following. They also can mess with my Alexa rating as the traffic drops considerably after the give away ends. In the end Good Posts bring in the best fans. Rewarding fans with quick surprise give aways on the facebook page is a nice touch.
How can one do something like this in different countries? or has somebody an idea how to run give-aways worldwide, that are attractive, yet also affordable.

my site http://www.ownapieceofamerica.com gives away free land so I don’t know what else to offer visitors or how to beat this giveaway. Sometimes I do cross promote with my other sites (http://www.ownapieceofamerica.us and http://www.veryclevergifts.com) to capitalize on the inherent promotional value of the first site.
